Countertechnique®

Mariko Koh, rehearsal director of Of Curious Nature, is a certificated teacher in Countertechnique® and will give you an exciting introduction into this great tool box for dancers.

Countertechnique® equips dancers with tools for body and mind to navigate modern dance demands. This movement system helps dancers process and apply information efficiently.

Structured exercises prepare the body for rehearsal and performance, enhancing strength, flexibility, fluidity, and spatial awareness. Dancers actively explore connections, focus less on self-judgment, and train holistically. Daily practice becomes both personal research and professional growth.
Developed by Dutch choreographer Anouk van Dijk, former artistic director of Chunky Move, Countertechnique® is a contemporary dance class that stretches, strengthens, and builds stamina.
Classes begin with core exercises to refine technique, followed by evolving movement sequences. Dancers learn to move with greater ease, take risks confidently, and transition faster.
