Jessica van Rüschen
Jessica van Rüschen was born 1976 in Germany. She received her dance educatioon at the Rotterdam Dance Academie and danced professionally for twenty years. She has worked and performed mainly as freelance performer for choreographers Felix Landerer (Landerer&Company), Itzik Galili (NND Galili Dance), Piet Rogie (Rogie&Company), SALLY (Dance Company Maastricht), Vera Sander, Stephen Shropshire, Jens van Daele and as a member of the dance theatre company for Staatstheater Oldenburg and Stadttheater Heidelberg.
Next to her dancing career van Rüschen built a company for video productions in the area of dance and art. She initiated her choreographic work in 2013. Under the support of Dansateliers Rotterdam she created ‘Us’ (2013) and ‘Certain Doubts’ (2014). Her work ‘How(l)’ (2017) and ’OUT’ (2019) was co-produced by Germany based dance company Landerer&Company. ‘The Pleasure and Pain of Not Knowing My Name’ as part of the double bill LIKE FICTION (2021) is her first co-production with the Of Curious Nature Dance Ensemble.
