Lynn Wright
Lynn Wright is a New York-based composer, lyricist, producer, and musician. Throughout the 90’s and early 00’s he worked as a session musician before turning his focus to composing for dance, theater, film, and sound installation. He has collaborated with, among others, writer and John Cage specialist Victoria Miguel on a series of Cage-inspired works, including a commission from the John Cage Trust to compose new music for an online version of Cage’s chess-based composition Reunion (1968), which premiered in tandem with Miguel’s play Laquearia at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe; Mexican-French filmmaker Mika Zimmerman on La Merced (a series of short films and video installations in Mexico City); sculpture Matthew Lusk on the installation More Broken Glass Than There Was Window at Zieher Smith gallery; Spanish photographer Laura Silleras on Fragments (MOVIM, Valencia); visual artist Raphaele Shirley; and Swans guitarist Norman Westberg and the bassist Algis Kizys on the ambient improvised album This Is Where (Hallowed Ground, 2019). Since 2009, he has been the principal composer for choreographer Rachel Cohen’s Racoco/RX company. Their most recent work Tilt debuted at Abron’s Art Center (NYC) in March 2019 and is currently touring Europe and Latin America.
