Yen Chu Ku
Yen Chu Ku was born in Taiwan and started to dance when she was 10 years old. She is professionally trained in ballet, modern and Chinese dance as well as floor work, the Martha Graham technique, the Jooss Leader Technique and Improvisation. Yen moved to Germany in 2017 and studied at Folkwang University of the Arts. During her studies she also choreographed a few pieces and learned repertoire by Pina Bausch. She has worked with artists and choreogaphers such as Chun Chang (Yibu Dance), Hung Chung Lai (HungDance), Lewis Major, Leoni Rodolpho, Upock Quaqavan, and Jill Crovisier. From January 2022 Yen joins Of Curious Nature as a graduate dancer.
Yen Chu Ku was supported from January 3, 2022, to July 15, 2023, by Beauftragte der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien in the NEUSTART KULTUR program, through the DIS-TANZ-START funding for graduates by Dachverband Tanz Deutschland.
